On the second Monday of every month prior to the May celebration,"Evenings With Rodney and Friends", will be at the Morehead City Train Depot. Planned by the Events and History Sesquicentennial committees, the potluck supper, fun and fellowship will begin at 6:00 pm followed by a time to reminisce with local historian, Rodney Kemp and friends about the history of Morehead City in honor of its 150 years.

If the answer to any of those questions is YES, then please join us for our first ever Quilt Appreciation Days on February 16 & 17. Co-sponsored by the Crystal Coast Quilters and the NC Arts Council, this two day gathering will include workshops and evaluations of local quilts by professional quilt historians, photo-documentation, oral history collections and displays of local quilts. For the fourth year, this annual luncheon is raising money and awareness of the needs of people in Carteret County. For a donation of $12.00, guests select from an assortment of delicious soup made and donated by area restaurants. A lovely handmade pottery bowl, made and donated by Carteret Community College students and employees, local potters and artists, and Carteret County school system's art classes, can be selected to take home as a reminder of world hunger and that someone's bowl is empty somewhere in the world.

Lookout Spring Road Race
This annual fitness road race in Morehead City is sponsored by the Lookout Rotary Club in Morehead City. The road race begins and ends at the Sports Center, and participants can run a 10K, 5K or 1 mile, or take part in the baby jogger race. Barta Boys and Girls Club Billfish Tournament

Headquartered at the downtown Beaufort Docks, is a billfish release-only event with Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin and King Mackerel Gamefish Divisions including a Jr. Angler Division for ages 16 years or younger. In addition to fishing, the world’s greatest marine artists are on hand to display their artwork, some pieces are available at auction. Coastal Carolina Christmas Walk
Begins at the Beaufort Historic Site, Beaufort. The walk features open house tours of Historic features Beaufort Bed and Breakfast Inns and the Beaufort Historic Site buildings decorated in period fashion for Christmas. A special narrated holiday bus tour through the Historic District is available aboard the vintage British double-decker bus. Seasonal music of the Colonial period can be heard throughout the Historic Site. The Christmas Walk is free. There is a fee for the bus tour. Information: 252-728-5225.

Festival of Trees
End Date: December 13; Duration: 6 Days
Sponsored in early December by the Friends of Hospice of Carteret County for the benefit of those receiving Hospice services, the annual Festival of Trees features a display of more than 60 decorated trees, a gala preview party and Santa.
