Explore our Crystal Coast during this 1-1/4 hour scenic tour with
some shaded seats available. You REMAIN on the boat during this approximate
14-mile roundtrip cruise from Beaufort into Harkers Island waters. Traveling
past Duke Marine Lab, Fort Macon, and the Beaufort Inlet, we point out the
vicinity of Blackbeard’s shipwreck, the Queen Anne’s Revenge. During the
excursion along the stunning shoreline of Shackleford Banks, hear folklore of
this undeveloped barrier island while looking for the roaming Spanish mustangs.
Turning north around Middle Marsh towards Harkers Island, the 150-foot Cape
Lookout Lighthouse comes into view (weather permitting) from just a few miles
away. This historic landmark, built in 1859, is visible to ships at sea from as
far away as 12 miles. Sightings of dolphin, sea turtles, and other land and
marine life may occur during this adventure. (Route may vary during inclement
weather/water conditions.)
